November PDM

Are you feeling the holiday spirit now that the grass has been covered with snow? You would have really been in good spirits (pun intended) had you attended the Milwaukee APICS Chapter’s November 19 professional development meeting (PDM) at Great Lakes Distillery!

Nearly 50 area professionals and a handful of eager college student members convened last Wednesday evening for snacks, an entertaining and informational guided private tour, and a tasting of seven of the distillery’s products. The crowd was particularly lively and engaged, firing off relevant supply chain and operations management geared questions and thoroughly delighting in making the association between the field and alcoholic beverages. Health care workers, manufacturers, and service professionals all found common ground on the distillery floor, and it was perhaps one of the best networking events the chapter has had in recent years.

The Chapter looks forward to seeing many repeat faces in attendance at some of the upcoming events, including a $5 breakfast roundtable meeting at RBG in Menomonee Falls on December 3 discussing inventory accuracy, a free informational breakfast regarding continuing education at Waukesha County Technical College on December 5, and the next PDM spotlighting Jeff Kortes speaking about employee retention the morning of January 21. More information regarding all events and Chapter resources is available online at www.apicsmilw.org.
